In memory of Cody Creech

“I had a Vision”: A Mother gives the Gift of Sight.
Sara Messer retrieved her vision with an advanced eye surgery recently and realized
that she had forgotten to donate her 9 year old son’s eyes when she lost him to
a tragic accident. She is making up for it by offering to pay for vision corrective
eye surgery to a deserving candidate in memory of her son Cody Creech.
“Hi, my name is Sara Messer. You see, I lost my little boy, Cody Creech in an accident.
He was 9yrs.old, just shy of his 10th birthday. We donated his organs and many lives
were saved through his death. We started the Cody Creech Memorial Fund to do what
we could to help others through his memory. “I recently underwent advanced surgery
on both my eyes. Before the surgery, I couldn’t even read the big E. I am now seeing
wonderfully. Everything is so clear and bright. With my new vision, I regret that
we only donated Cody’s organs. We didn’t donate his eyes. Since my own experience,
I have realized that many people just like me can benefit from advanced vision technologies
today."
This is an opportunity where my son can still give sight to someone, through his
memory. From the Cody Creech Memorial Fund, I have donated monies for someone to
get a vision corrective surgery through world renowned eye surgeon, Dr. Gulani (he
performed my surgery). He has partnered with me because he believes in this cause.
I have requested Dr. Gulani’s expertise (www.gulanivision.com) and appreciate his
involvement in our endeavor.
We would like all who are interested or know of someone who could benefit from this,
to send in a short essay explaining why they or their loved one deserves to receive
this gift. This contest is to enable people (over 21 years of age) who are dependant
on glasses or contact lenses to respond for themselves or their loved ones. It is
not for those with blindness from disease or pathology. In summary, it is for people
who can see with glasses or contact lenses, whether they are nearsighted, farsighted
or have astigmatism. Of course after selection of the best, deserving Essay, only
a complete eye evaluation and Dr. Gulani’s medical opinion shall decide the candidacy
for the selected person. We have launched my desire in this Valentine’s month as
it was very important to Cody since he always thought of gifts for everyone. The
selection for the Essay finalist shall be in April which is the National Organ Donor
month. So, write your brief essay in the specified form on this website and I wish
you all the very best and look forward to giving a deserving person a New Vision
for the New Year!
